Style68
Hi Guys, Could someone answer two hopefully easy questions that I could not find answers for in this forum. I used Kalway's DVD to install Mac OSX 10.5.1, and I was able to accomplish the install and start using Mac OS X, with the video and network card working, but not the internal sound (this is not an audio question , I will figure that out on my own through the forum, because I understand that MSI's implementation of the ALC888 audio is different from other internal ALC888 implementations). I have an MSI P35-Neo2R motherboard with 4GB of memory, GeForce 8800GTS (G92), and 3GHz Core 2 Duo E6850. For the install I used the Vanilla with ACPI-PS2 fix, SSE2, and GUID options only in order for the install to work. In BIOS I have to disable the IOAPIC option in order for the Mac OS to boot up, otherwise it will just keep rebooting. Now it's no big deal for me to have the IOAPIC disabled, but I have to enable it in order to have Windows XP boot up. Just wondering if there is a way to keep IOAPIC enabled all of the time and still boot to both OS's? (NOTE: When I select Enable, an the extra option of the MPS Table Version is displayed.) My second question has to do with selecting SSE2 in the install options, If I don't select this option I can't install the Mac OS to my HD (using -v it stops at "Using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"). No big deal for me here either, but since I am using a CPU that supports SSE3, will I lose any performance benefits that SSE3 would provide? Thanks for anyone who could help answer this for me.
