Hardware: Pentium E2160 @2.4 GHZ (Shooting for 9x333 once I hear more peoples' temperature results)

Mushkin DDR2800 2gb Kit

Gigabyte P35-DS3R (Not C, only DDR2 modules)

EVGA 7600GT

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320gb 16mb

ASUS DVDRW Lightscribe SATA

Cooler Master Case

Cooler Master PSU 650watts

Details: I used Mtotho's guide for the most part. There was ONE conflict I had with his guide, but that might be DS3R specific. If you have a DS3R and are having trouble getting LAN drivers to work, turn on "Boot on LAN Rom" in Power Management in the motherboard BIOS. Once I found that tip and used it, I had working internet. Also make sure you connect sound to the bottom middle light green output to get sound and test it. Even if you use Kext Helper, I found that manually changing the chmod and chown settings on the files prior to putting them in kext helper was the guaranteed way of getting sound. That and deleting the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext. I used Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1.

Results - Every piece of hardware but the SPIDF Optical/Coaxial out works. My video card has full acceleration. I have downloaded and used multiple programs. Almost all my SATA ports work (Thanks to Legacy non-AHCI mode) and I can even read and go into my IDE hard drive. I don't know if that means I can use IDE devices but I'd rather not risk it, which is why I went with SATA drives for my installation.

Xbench score - 145.30. I figure it could be higher with a higher clock frequency, but I'm happy with my result. I'm also extremely happy to have Qwartz Extreme working.

Minor tips that some people might come across -

"My Kalyway DVD won't unzip properly, it always has a corrupted file error."

-Use Winrar's latest version and you will unzip fully.

"I had (X/Y/Z) problem when installing."

-Make sure you follow Mtotho's installation details to the T. Use Vanilla Kernel + EFI Kernel fix and that's IT. Don't turn on ANY special installation options. Even if they seem like drivers you will need. The only way to guarantee a successful install that actually boots is by following his guide closely.

"For some reason, after installing Leopard, my Windows XP doesn't boot properly."

-This is a known issue, check it in the Post-Installation forum or search for it. The general consensus is there's two ways around this- Preventative measures would be using a Tiger DVD to format the Mac OSX Extended Journal partition and then quitting installer and putting in your Leopard DVD. The post-installation option is to repair your Windows XP installation with a Windows XP CD, after agreeing to license terms (Pressing F8) and choosing to repair Windows rather than installing a fresh version. In order to successfully boot into Leopard after that, you have to install a Boot OS manager. Linux Open Source offers Grub (which is a mighty pain in the butt to find as all they have are betas and information ABOUT the program) and there's another program called OS Selector by Acronis, which costs $8.00. I'm still working with this problem as I chose to install Leopard BEFORE XP because I was eager to get it working. I might back up my files and just do fresh installations the right way.

A few questions *I* have for anyone experienced with this-

Is the DS3L the only motherboard P35 based that has optical out working?

Are the temperature readings in OSX accurate? My temperature at idle reads 49.0 celsius, but in BIOS with 30% load my CPU reads 37-38 celsius and I have a nice aftermarket cooler. I'm wondering if OSX's T-junction is 100c.

Does Leopard require an IO device fix to run Photoshop CS3? I really want to use that program.

I know I was reading a little higher than BIOS in terms of temperature, when I restarted the limits in the temperature program said 0c min 100c max, I'm not sure if that is T-junction but it did seem a little off.

I just checked, and it's coming up 46-47c on idle with a 2.13 e6420, so that does sound a little high, even on stock cooling.

I am also running a DS3R, but with the C and 2 DDR3 slots, but it works wonderfully.
