Hi guys,

does the hackintosh thing work with a dell latitude x1?

Specs:

Intel Pentium M ULV Processor 733 (1.1GHz)

WinXP Pro

2x 256MB shared2 DDR2 SDRAM 400 MHz bus frequency

Dell Latitude X1 features the latest Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (GMA 900, up to 128MB shared)

Intel PRO Wireless 2200 WLAN (802.11b/g)

Dell TrueMobile 350 Bluetooth module

Full Specs: http://www.dell.com/content/products/produ...;l=en&s=dfh

If so, which version should I use as my notebook is quite old (only 1,1GHz Intel M, 512MB Ram, Shared Graphic, 60GB HDD)? Is it OK to use Leopard (10.5)? Or better stay with Tiger (10.4.9)?

What is the best and easiest way (for a newbie) to get it on my notebook (which still runs WinXP)?

Thx very much.

I own a Macbook, but want my subnotebook for travel Dell Latitude X1 to run with Mac OS, too, als long as I can put Windows on it again (f.e. for resell)?

I am in the same boat...

I am going to try out iATKOS v1.0r2 and Kalyway and see what works.

I have been trying to get HP Compaq 8510w with hackintosh but since it has too many devices that are new, I am not too lucky with that laptop and this Dell Latitude X1 would be a nice alternative.

I will post my results later.

Did you have any luck installing OS X on your Dell X1?

Hi folks,

I own a Dell X1 too and would love to have OSX running on it. I searched the internet and couldn't find the right installation routine or parameters yet. I tried x86 10.5.6 Install Disc Universal Final w/o succes in installing (stuck at boot prompt) and build a thumbstick following this http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...start-to-finish guide. I'm certainly no geek and look for the easiest possible way to get 10.5.6 or 10.6 running but I can use a MacBook as required for the lifehacker guide and succeded in burning the above disc with matching MD5.

Thank you very much!

Ols
