blueillusion
Hey guys. This is my first time trying to install leopard on my system. I got the Kalyway iso and started to install. I cant use the vanilla kernel as the system spurts out some text then reboots right away. Pressing any key to start the install is fine. I can partition my hard drive, using disk utility using mbr and or guid. When the install is about 2% away from completion, I get a big Yellow Warning image, and the OS X install tells me: Failed to finish Installation, Please reboot and try again. This happens everytime i try to install. My hardware is: Intel Pentium Dual Core e2160 AsRock 4coreDual-Sata2 2 x 1gb Crucial memory 1 pata 80gb hdd 1 pata 20gb hdd. 512mb Nvidia geforce 7600 gs The options i used in the custom install were: Select Both kernels (also tried not selecting any) Nvidia (desktop) inject guid loader. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Jean-Philippe
Sounds like the DVD might contain errors.. I would try a new burn. The first DVD I burned gave me an error like that.. the next one was fine.. Might be something else too eh! Good luck.
blueillusion
Ok it finished the install this time. Turns out that i had a volume name with spaces in it. Next problem. i cant seem to load the vanilla kernel. After reboot from install, the boot loader loads, then trys to load the kernel. As soon as it tries to load my computer reboots. Any hints?
