salax
I have a Dell P4 with a built-in Ethernet card. I tried setting up the Internet connection utilizing my ISA server, but the OS doesn't give me the option to choose using LAN. All i have is the modem choice. The System Profiler shows the Ethernet card, but through my prefferences, i can't seem to use it. Anyone with a similar problem? Would an extra network card do the job? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8667-internet-through-lan/ Share on other sites

My OS is 8f111. From which CD do you mean that i should drag and replace the patches? I also tried something else. I couldn't actually ping anything, and the Ethernet status was red. My onboard card is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit one. What i did, was add a PCI 3Com card, which shows green status. Although i can ping my own IP and the Server's IP, i still cannot connect to the Internet. When i try to change the Ethernet settings, the wizard closes. Not able to do any adjustments. By the way, how and from where would i have to setup the "through LAN" settings? I used to be able to set these up from the IE settings in Winblows, giving the proper IP address, gateway etc., and port number, and it was fine. Now i still try to find answers...
