lmwong
I installed an atheros wireless card into my Thinkpad T61. I'm using iAktos Leopard. At first, with just the hardware install, no network card was recognized. Then I installed the IO80211Family.kext from 10.4.5 on the iAktos installation. Now it recognizes that an Airport is installed, but I can't get it to Turn On. I run the diagnostic in Network Preferences, and it will see all the networks around me and allow me to select my network, and says that everything is working. But the airport remains off? Anyone? Thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86668-help-with-atheros-wireless/ Share on other sites
lmwong
Huh, wierd. As I run diagnostic, it says that Airport must be turned on, press continue to turn on. I press continue, the icon and light remain off but I get internet through Safari. When I close the session, I have to go through diagnostics again to get to the internet!? weird. ChrisHerman
check out this thread if you haven't already: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...&pid=615833 (I managed to get Lenovo abg wireless working with 10.4.8/9 drivers after having exactly same symptoms you experience).
