amb7247
I have an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe board. TWO IDE hard drives and I'll be replacing my main IDE drive with a 750GIG SATA drive soon. I also have two DVD burners. One is a BenQ a 2-3 years old and an LG which I got last year. Both are IDE as well. It appears with this board the IDE conversion runs off the JMicron. However I treid 3 discs and it give me that error. Now the I got one of the leopards off of torent and the zip file was broken and winrar could not open it. The other file was the plain ISO which appears to be 4.37GB in size. I can open this just fine in WinISO and I can see about 8 files there, im sure the other files are hidden. In the iso I see BOOT, BOOT.CAT, BOOT0, BOOT1H, BOOT1U, BOOTHELP.TXT, CDBOOT and CHAIN0. So I was curious if the DVD I created would work better and correctly with a SATA burner rather than the IDE burner because I'm having no luck. The interesting thing though is I brought the disc to a retail store and put it hte disc on one of the of the gateway and HP computer and it had some kind of ebios error. I'm assuming because I burnt the disc to fast but bring the same disc and put it on my PC and I get the plist not found. Thanks guys. Let me know if you guys know anything I can do. coolaks
happened with me too.. on my DG33FB.. when i updated to latest BIOS, i started getting the same problem..!! so i had to downgrade it again.. since there wasnt much performance improvement anyway.. :/ the actual thing is that the install disk cannot locate ur DVD drive.. either it is on IDE or the BIOS issue.. try sata optical drive thru AHCI mode.. works gr8.. EDIT: just read thru ur post properly.. sorry for not doing it earlier.. IDE mode does not work out of the box on ur mobo.. u need to patch AppleVIAATA.kext (ie, add ur hardware ID to the Info.plist file).. and then repack the DVD.. i hav only tried kalyway, but u may try iATKOS, which might hav ur reqd kexts.. amb7247
Well it looks like my dual layer dvd works. I tried it on a older lenovo computer at work that doesn't have the Jmicron just regular IDE controllers and the disc booted right up though I didn't want to install it lol. But I guess what I'll have to do is follow ADAM install guide in the hackintosh website since he has the exact same board as I do and get SATA dvd drives since the IDE doesn't work with this.
