BennyBull
I have OSX 10.5.1 running on my Toshiba Tecra M4. But the following things don't work. 1. Trying to play a video file, like avi, divx, etc, simply causes VLC to crash. 2. Trying to play DVD causes the OSX DVD player software to crash with the error "The application DVD player quit unexpectedly." 3. My sound card doesn't work. 4. When I insert my CF card in its PCMCIA sleeve, nothing happens. Looks like PCMCIA doesn't work or something is not getting recognized. Does anyone have any hints on how to fix any of these issues? dci693
I had problems 1 and 2 on my desktop. They key for me was getting an updated video driver. iMovie would also crash on startup and gave me a message saying I needed a video card that supported Quartz Extreme. You'll see references on these boards to QE/CI (CI stands for Core Image). You don't really need to know what they are, just that without them, many OSX apps won't work right. What video chip is in your laptop? Getting a driver that supports QE/CI may be the way to go.
