Doug the Impaler
OK, so here's the deal: I've got one HDD with Kalyway 10.5.1 booting EFI, formatted GUID. I really don't want to reinstall this; I've got the whole thing customized the way I like it and I'm pretty happy with it. I've got a separate HDD where Windows is *going* to be. It can be any version of Windows; I'm not terribly picky. I'd *prefer* Vista x64, though, as I have a license and I'd like to use it. Here's the hardware config: Pentium E2140 3GB DDR2 memory ASUS P5B-Plus Geforce 8800GT 512 Realtek 8139 LAN card SATA DVD-RW 2xSATA HDD Everything in Leopard is FANTASTIC. Everything in Windows is ALSO just FANTASTIC. I just want to install a boot loader that will let me pick an OS (with OS X the default). I have successfully used the BIOS's boot loader (hitting F8 at startup) and selecting Windows when I boot into it. I'd rather not have to do that; I'd rather just get the menu by default. I don't care which HDD needs the boot loader, I just want it to work. dci693
I'm using XP Pro and the "chain0" method (good info on Wikipedia). If you want to use Vista, I've heard of the EasyBCD method, but haven't tried it. Search the forums for more info. Doug the Impaler
dci693 - have you been using chain0 with OS X on a GUID drive? I haven't been able to get that to work with XP or Vista at all. thanks MrRoper, I'll check that out. Wayfarer247
If you have Vista you can try EasyBCD. If you want a better guide than anything you can find on their site, a Google search should be sufficient. I personally use GRUB, but that is because I also have Ubuntu on my computer.
