maxx2097
Today my Finder crashed (while copying files to a network share) and now I have all those hidden files (like ".DS_Store", etc.) visible in the Finder and even the Desktop. How can I stop this behaviour? Thanks! maxx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86225-finder-shows-hidden-files-after-crash/ Share on other sites
hylix
This also happened to me, however, the other user account on my machine is fine. .DS_Store and .Localized are really annoying when they are visible on the desktop! Also, when I try to view / (My volume name is Leopard) in list mode, it only has a Link pointing to / (Leopard) and any other file system I have mounted (like usb key...etc). any sugestions? maxx2097
Same here... the problem is gone, when logging in as another user. So the problem should be located somewhere in the Users folder.OK... the following command(s) fixes the problem... use them in a terminal as the effected user (NOT root). defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE killall Finder Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86225-finder-shows-hidden-files-after-crash/#findComment-612839 Share on other sites
