ryhoo2
I've noticed strange thing on my laptop. System detects my graphics car (NVidia 8400M GS) with support for QE/CI. But when I connected my external monitor I just realized that the 3D acceleration has started working at last! Before I conecteds my monitor OpenMark benchmark showed ~174 points, and after I connected monitor it BOOSTS to 1200 points! When I plug out the monitor it is still working! But then when I clicked "Detect Displays" again it stops to work, and I got 174 points again... Does anyone had the same issue? Why the QE/CI does not work on my internal display? Is it related to the NVCAP entry somehow? My configuration: Dell Vostro 1400 Graphics: NVidia 8400M GS 128MB OS: Leopard 10.5.1 + NVidia kexts 10.5.2+ and system updates from Apple site Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86131-qeci-boost-after-2nd-monitor-detected-on-laptop/ Share on other sites
macgirl
In my case I get a boost after I make sleep the display (no need to attach external monitor), I do the sleep display with hot-corners btw. Also I noticed performance increase in opengl.
