dd..damnit

This is probably rather stupid and my own fault, but can anyone shed some light on my problem. I am trying to dd the tiger-x86-flat.img to a spare hard drive using the windows method but it says 'device not writable'. it then goes on through the rest of the procedure and seems ok, but the disk is still empty.

 

Please someonetell me i am just doing something wrong here.

DD didn't work for me either. Try using WinHex in specialist mode. Be sure to have a spare physical HD without ANY partions. You can remove them in XP's disk management.

In Winhex goto Disktools>Clonedisk. Source is your tiger image, destination the clean HD. Start from sector 0.

When finished be sure to make the disk your primary master and boot up.

Worked fine for me. Be sure to remove AppleTPMACPI.kext. It makes OSX86 much faster. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/SpeedBoost
