Elitemaster
Hi there, it seems that my iAKTOS v1.0i doesn't want to start installing at all at first i got the "Still Waiting for root Device" error, then after messing with my PC a little,i managed to get a little forward, but it hangs completely after these lines: "Jettisoning Kernel Linker" "Resetting IOCatalogue" then nothing happens.I left it 10 minutes on that, thinking it takes time, but no go .At this point i've ran out of options. if someone knows how to help me,here are my hardware specs: Asus P5LD2 Motherboard,1 GB RAM DDR2 NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT Intel Core 2 Duo E6300,1.86 GhZ S-ATA HD Windows XP Professional SP2 LG GSA-H10N DVD-RAM drive. as i said, this is only my first attempt at install...i didn't make it past enough to install anything Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85945-boot-problem-with-iaktos-v10i/ Share on other sites
DubaiHunter
SAME THING WITH ME! except the error part....we have to do something! i was able to run mac os x 10.5.7 perfectly, used it for a while, now i need this one....i think the problem is that i didnt unzip the iaktos zip release in MAC but i did in windows vista winrar v3.62 and burned on 4x using ultraiso...i remember i read somewhere that you have to unzip in mac... jcc6655
I had the same problem. I've been able to get into set up by booting with the option -x legacy cpus=1 -v (the -4 is just so i know it hasnt halted) i also turned off my on board lan & disconnected my hard drives over 128gb im not sure if that helped but it was recommended on a guide for another release. It's installing right now I'll let you guys know how it went when its done or if it fails LOL Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85945-boot-problem-with-iaktos-v10i/#findComment-634919 Share on other sites
MacNutty
Try to boot from a external DVD drive. This solved my problem of "Still waiting for root device". Good Luck.
