bustabo Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 ok well this is my first mac, i picked up a powerbook g4 12'' 1.33ghz and an ibook g4 1.02 or something.... i am trying to install tiger on the ibook but it seems to just spit my dvd out when i try to boot from it, it has a combo drive and a working version of 10.3 on it now should i possibly try to re-burn the iso of tiger? i am totally lost on what to do here, i currently use a m1330 with leopard on it. Put the DVD in the drive and reboot. Press Option-Command-Shift-Delete during startup bypass primary startup volume and seek a different startup volume (such as a CD or external disk). You should then get the installation screen. You are using a genuine Apple disk (not JaS, XxX, MacNub etc) I assume.... Synaesthesia Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 Mac OS X 10.5. comes with an installer on the disk that you double-click and then it asks you to reboot. Doesn't 10.4 also? macgirl Posted February 6, 2008 Share Posted February 6, 2008 yeah, but if it spits it is probably damaged. You can put the PowerBook in target Disk mode and install from the other Mac or viceversa. For target Disk mode press "T" when you push the power button.
