skyhighmac
A friend of mine wants to buy an apple tv, and he wants to put it in his media closet which is a little ways, and use his universal remotes to contol them, but how would I do this? I was thinking about an IR blaster? I'm not sure. He really just wants it to work, so please, can anyone help me? Thank you! jriera
IR Blasters/IR Repeaters work fine, I have several at home including one to the Apple TV. Smarthome, Buffalo even Amazon has those. You need the reciever, the modulator/connection block, the power supply and the flasher(s) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85843-atv-and-an-ir-blaster/#findComment-609532 Share on other sites

jriera
I have always used Xantech products (http://www.xantech.com/products/ir_products.htm), I have the 789-44 Connector Block, the 480-B0 receiver (Dinky-Link) and the 284M Emitters. At this point I have four of this systems at home, never had any trouble.
