JayT311
Yup thats right I have a fully working Vostro 1500 with 10.5.1 with EFI stock kernal. The sound, I was able to resaerch some stuff here on these forums and found a working patch sort of. This is what I did. Note this was taken from someone here on these forums and I'm sorry but I cant find who wrote is but thank you who-ever you are. "What I did first was reinstall iATKOS because I screwed up a few things... Then I deleted AppleAzaliaAudio.kext in the /System/Library/Extensions folder. I copied Paulo's AppleHDA.kext into the /System/Library/Extensions folder and it replaced the old one. Then I repaired and verified permissions in disk utility. Then I used a SigmaTel 9205 codec and patched it with AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 Then I rebooted. Then it wasn't working so I copied Paulo's AppleHDA.kext into the /System/Library/Extensions folder and replaced the one I previously put even though they are exactly the same. Then I repaired and verified permissions in disk utility and rebooted. Now I have the internal speakers working with output and input." This worked great!!! Now, I used IATKOS install with EFI and stock kernal along with the Broadcom 440x drivers, thats it. I also used Gparted Live CD to set the installation as an active partition. Teh video card I have is a VNidia 8400M GS and I used the 10.5.2_NVkexts+.pkg installer for the video. Right now it only shows 64Megs of ram when I have 256 but oh well. I have the correct resulution 1280x800. The Ethernet was installed with the pakage that is in the OS installation. The wireless worked right after the installation. so any ? or thoughts about anything would be great. JayT311
the Wireless you don't need to select anything for that during the installation process but you do need to select the Broadcom 440X driver in the customizing screen.
