jrp
I have the macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg file. I converted it to an .iso file using the terminal command: "hdiutil convert macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg -format UDTO -o macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.iso" Now that I had the iso file, I copied it from my mac to my pc to run the JaS patch. I ran the patch and it said it patched successfully. Then I copied it back to my powerbook to burn it to a DVD using Disk Utility. Then I put the dvd with the iso into the dell, booted it, watched the gray apple appear and start to load. Then the screen went to a blue screen where I could move my mouse around. Then I got the multicolored pinwheel of doom and the whole computer just shut down completely. When I did a -v (verbose) setup, I found that the DVD loaded everything. It was after the dvd load when it crashed. Just before the computer shut down it gave me like three lines of text. It was so fast I couldn't get it but the same problem I'm having is in another post about a week ago right here. So my question is, is it worth trying to install osx86 through the dvd iso or should i try another way if there is another way? The ideal way I would like to set it up is in the exact same form as the flawless 10.4.1 setup I did using a guide from osx86.theplaceforitall.com where I used the terminal to copy all system files to an empty disk and then simply take the hard drive out of my powermac g3 and put it into the dell and it just loads os x without any installation. Is that possible with the 10.4.3 dmg file? Or should I keep trying to get that DVD to work? My computer is a: Dell Dimension 8100 Pentium 4 1.3 Ghz SSE2 256 MB RDRAM 120 gig hard drive (windows xp), 12 gig hard drive (osx86) 32 MB Nvidia GeForce2 Thanks! jrp Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8575-1043-almost-works/ Share on other sites
