MrLarryLarry
I installed the JAS 10.4.8 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3 DVD on a Sony Vaio VGNNR220E. I setup an active partition using Acronis for OSX. It installed fine and runs fine BUT ONLY if I have the DVD in the drive. If I let the DVD timeout (Press any key to boot from DVD) then the laptop will boot to OSX fine. If, however, the DVD drive is not in then I get "HFS+ Partition Error" and it wont boot. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance...
GTR-33
Sounds like the HDD is missing a boot flag.
youngi
hey man, try to boot -s with the DVD, then write: fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 then: print u then should find that the OSX partition id is 7...it should be AF, and to do so, type: (if ur OSX partition is 2...just flag ur osx partition number) flag 2 setpid 2 AF quit that should fix the HFS partition error, but does not restore darwin boot loader, and to do so: boot -s with the DVD and: fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 2 (2 should be ur OSX partition number) update write quit dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2 bs=512 count=

ht1948
Hi guys, I also have this problem. I have a Dell M1530 with Vista installed on 1 partition and Leopard on the other. I'm new to OSX86, can someone tell me how to boot -s with the DVD? When my system starts, I hit f12 to get into the boot menu option. That's where I'm stuck. TIA for your help

rutza
i had the same problem. after i searched on the net for 3-4 days i found a solution. 1. boot from mac dvd 2. press f8 3. -v -s 4. fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 5. print 6. flag 1 7. update 8. write 9. quit 10. reboot 11. in windows, start acronis suite. select the partition with os x. right-click -> convert -> into a primary partition. that should resolve this problem
