hi,

when i try to boot osx from dvd 10.4.8 on my self-built pc with following specs

ECS GF7050VT-M

Intel Pentium D 925 2x3 ghz

Palit Geforce 8600 gts 512mb

1gb RAM.

IDE dvd drive...

it just rebooots (no error message or sth)

if i boot with -x it looks like booting ( the boot screen appears ) but it does nothing... the bootmenu shows that my hdd is hd(111, 1) shouldnt it be ( if master ) hd0, 0? im sorry i dont know the exact name of the IDE controller... should i get a SATA dvd drive?

Everyone seems to like using the 10.4.8 (JaS) Install DVD. I recommend the Uphuck release of 10.4.9 (Rev 3).

I have so many different distros of OS X86 is isnt funny! But out of them all 10.4.9 seems to be better.

If you have a copy or can get one, give that a try and see what happens or comes up.

Just before it restarts, can you see what the last line of text it outputs? It might give us a hint.
