Crazee_Kr33
Hi All, I have a laptop i wish to install Leopard on, but....I can't even get to setup process to run. My laptop keep restarting (especially if I type vanilla at the boot prompt) or which is frequently happening, my laptop shuts down and powers off. I get to the apple screen with the apple and animated loading image, but after a while it just shuts off. My laptop is fairly old, specs: 1.6Ghz Pentium-M 1Gig Ram 40Gig HD Even thought it does not have SSE3...it DOES have SSE2 & SSE. Could this be a problem? Please help Much thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85076-kalyway-leopard-setup-refuses-to-even-start/ Share on other sites
Kay T
Well, first vanilla is a native kernel from apple. And it's sse3 only Don't install vanilla. And do install sse2 patches. And second try to boot in verbose mode to see what's the problem. sirwild
hm.. fine.. my notebook (quite equal configuration) produces the same problem as yours.. the only difference: "-legacy" has no effect. if the problem isnt anything stupid like a worse dvd type ( i took verbatim dvd+r ) SSE2 would be the problem, in my opinion too.. despite of the promised SSE2 compatibility. did you try any other hackintosch version? i tried uphuck and iAKTOS too.. both with the same problem.. Crazee_Kr33
I managed to get the install process work, I switched off APM in my BIOS. But it told me, when it was time to actually install the OS, it told me that there was no software packages to install. What do you think the problem could be? I'm using the Mac OSX 10.5 "Kalyway" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85076-kalyway-leopard-setup-refuses-to-even-start/#findComment-604249 Share on other sites
sirwild
i sadly dont know.. i tried kalyway and the previous listes hackintosh versions but all with the same deflating result my laptop uses a phoenix bios and there isnt any possibility to change some apci settings, so i cant do all these perhaps important(?) settings. my last try would be to test the ToH version.. i'll inform you if this would be successful! another possibilty may be to update the bios.. did you try this? sirwild
10.5.1 doesent work for me.. another "lite" possibility will be to emulate mac os through vmware..
