Help! iATKOS grey screen of death!

ok first her are my computer specs:

HP Pavilion Notebook

Intel Pentium 4ht 3.40GHz CPU

93Gb HDD (I think it's IDE)

2024Mb RAM

Intel Chipset Quanta motherboard

ATI Radeon Mobility X600

if you need others let me know

 

I've tried installing both iATKOS and Kalyway

so far the farthest I'f gotten was disk check after using the disk utilities to format the drive to HFS+

however recently all I;ve been getting is not even close.

 

In my most recent attempt for iATKOS, this was what happened:

started normal, loading Darwinx86

switch over to the Apple bootscreen with rotating loader bar thingy

stayed at the bootscreen for about ten minutes then flipped to a full grey screen with the cursor in the upper left corner

showed that screen for a minute then shut down my computer.

 

I restarted it and ran the "-v" command and it came up with a looping "SAM Multimedia: Read or Write failed

 

as well as this error message "ERROR-FireWire unable to determine security mode

jettisoning Kernel Linker"

 

 

 

In my most recent attempt with Kalyway, It didn't even get to loading Darwinx86

 

these results have been consistent with all three discs of each installer I created. I burned using the lowest speed I could.

I have an external HDD formatted with HFS+ ready to install it on, but I would like to put it on a partition on my internal disc but MacDrive won't let me format any partition on adrive where Windows is present.

this is my first time trying to do this sort of thing and would really like to get it working so I can get used to OSX

I would appreciate any help that can get this working on my system.
