1099 better than 1111?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

ive got 1111 with 4.2B patch etc and SSE2 CPU + RADEON 9800 PRO

I tried several games in Univ Bin of course and OpenGL and it runs pretty good but really slower than on XP.

In my case i think the lack of SSE3 is the main problem and id like to know if someone got better results on 1099 which is "said" to be optimized for SSE2

thanx

In my experience 8f1009 (with SSE2 CPU) will get you higher xbench scores and it will just feel faster but everything is still slower than XP. If you're gaming you want the best possible performance which means boot XP and come back to OSX86 when you're done. :happymac:

I'm wondering how much improvement I'd see with an upgrade to a SSE3 CPU.

i tryed 1099 i won about 5FPS in WOW which is not contributing  so i kept 1111 for the compatiblity of PPC and OPENGL.

Im wondering as u do if the problem doesnt simply come from the SSE3 emul

I'm trying to grab the patched 4.01gb 8f1099 image from a particularly scurvy torrent tracker. (arrr!) But no one's seeding it anymore. A little help?

*edit*

My bad... it was just a little slow to come up.
