Hello all. First i would like to thank everyone for doing such a great job in this forum. I have seen so much information that has helped me with my install of leopard on my AMD PC. I have been working for a solid week to try and get leopard on this PC and now I have finally done it! I do; however, have some serious internet problems. Let me get to the stats:

CPU: AMD 64x2 5600+ 2.81.. GHz

MOBO: (sorry forgot exactly) Asus nForce4 Chipset

2 GB RAM

WD 160GB IDE HD (Leopard)

SATA 250GB HD (Ubuntu + Vista)

Nvidia GeForce 8600GT

etc etc...

I know the nforce 4 onboard LAN doesnt work well with leopard so before I installed I disabled the onboard LAN and put in an old ethernet card. I dont know the manufacturer but it is ANCIENT. Needless to say, the internet actually worked right off the bat! I can open safari and it goes to the mac page, and i can navigate around the mac page. I can also download and install Mac updates. I cant; however, manage to navigate beyond the mac page (google, cnn.com, insanelymac.com etc...) nor can I use applications that use the internet like IChat. Whenever I use these applications they crash unexpectedly. I'm not sure exactly where i can go from here, and I was wondering if anyone could help.

So to sum up:

Internet works with mac page

I can download and recieve updates

I cannot browse the web (safari crashes)

I cannot use apps that use the internet (they all crash)

I looked around for a long time on this forum and I couldnt find anything that matched my problem. If this has already been solved then please point me in the direction of the post that has solved this. Thanks for all your help!!

Also quick question: any way i can get my 8600GT to work correctly? nothing seems to support it. anyway, thanks!

Bump sorta.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? I'm thinking its compatibility issues with the PCI ethernet card and MAC OS X normal drivers (obviously). I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and knew how they fixed it.

Also, X11 seems to just give me green lines at the top of my screen and then it says "application ended unexpectedly". Anyone have that before?

My Leopard on my AMD is working just fine except for those few problems (internet, X11, Graphics card supportability).

is your cpu sse3 or sse2 because that sounds rosseta, also 8600GT - im thinking you should try the efi this - netkas.org post your full system specs please :hysterical:

also might be a QE/Ci problem

Ok I took another look at my Mobo:

Asus M2n-SLI Deluxe

North Bridge: NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP

Lan Chipset: Marvell PHY

Audio Chipset: ADI AD1988B (8 channels)

Athlon 64 x2 5600+ windsor

Supports: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, 3DNOW! Professional

My processor supports sse2/sse3 so im not sure what the prob could be. It really seems restricted to internet access.
