Virtual machines don't use the actual hardware...they use generic hardware that the virtual machine software makes the client virtual machine OS think exists. This is why/how you can have multiple network/sound cards in a virtual machine that the actual computer itself does not have. That's how I understand it anyways...someone correct me if I'm wrong. Actually i read on the parallels web site that hardware that is windows specific will work using parallels.
