Shako
Hey, I just finally got my 10.5.1 Kalyway installed but if I use the Vanilla kernel and acpiplatform it restarts like 3 seconds into booting. Any ideas on why vanilla kernel wouldn't work? Specs: Core 2 Duo E6420 Asus P5VDC-MX 2.0 Bios 0809 2gigs of Corsair Valuselect DDR2 ATI 9800XT It's a via chipset board. Is perhaps my problem because it's a Via board and not an intel chip'd board? Also, what does "-legacy" do. I can boot fine with non vanilla kernel and -legacy, won't boot without -legacy. Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84033-vanilla-kernel-problem/ Share on other sites
mtotho
Not all hardware is compatible. Vanilla is apples stock kernel.. apple runs on intel. I do not see your board on HCL or boards with VIA chipsets.
