Hi Folks

I'm going to get my new XPS 1530 next week or so. As I did some research I found that it's hatdware would be pretty good too successfully run 10.5.1/2 with everything working.

I'm kind of a noob and I'm a bit confused about Dual and Triple boot systems.

The goal ist to get 10.5 fully working (PC_EFI + vanilla Kernel) + XP at a second partition for gaming + Dells Media Direct.

As far as I know you can install Dells Media Direct by cd BEFORE installing XP/Vista. It creates a new partition.

So any suggestions?

I wonder which partition table to use , mbr or guid, I hardly know the differences. Which should I choose to get a Triple boot system working?

Which install dvd should I use? iAtkos r2, Kalyway? Or better: is there a way to install Leopard with an Original Leopard DVD and some kinda patch ore something?

Hardware:

XPS 1530

C2D t7500

8600m gt

3gb ram

intel wireless n card (I know this may not work but doesn't really matter)

Hi

Sorry I didn't answer, I just stopped checking this thread since osx is working fine on my 1530. I did it with iAtkos r2 and macgirls guide.

Everything working fine, except onboard ethernet and wifi. I bought an Apple USB to Ethernet converter for MacbookAir, working out of the box wit 10.5.2!

My Intel N Wireless doesn't work but isn't that important since I got Vista as Dualboot option anyway. Sleep works perfectly.

Other problems: reboot/shutdown does not work completely, keyboard layout changes after reboot (very mysterious), no speedstep, not able to turn audio off! volume just turns down pressing the mute button, but you can still hear something....

All in all: i like osx but there are some problems concerning windows compatibility... e.g. Mail Program, if you'd like to use both OS! msn programs are also kind of ugly and complicated ;)

wow i had a bit AWFUL experience today..

got my xps m1530 today.. tried iAtkos v1.0r2 ..

everything seemed to be fine.. middle of installing and it said cannot read disc.. restarted and there it was... "missing operating system" ... vista wouldnt boot from cd.. switched boot order.. still missing operating system.. i was f*..

tried once more.. pressed enter as fast as i could to boot from cd.. worked.. when choosing partition to install on windows could not use any of my partitions.. deleted everything.. and worked..

WOW.. i think im gonna wait a while before trying to install leopard again.........
