i just searched the wiki for 10.4.1 and these are the realtek Confirmed working NIC's

Realtek

Realtek RTL8139 Series (try swapping PCI slot if not recognized)

8100C/810x (reconized as RTL8139)

8100s, MSI 865PE Neo2-PFS (Platinum Edition) on board LAN chip

for 10.3.4 the Realtek RTL8139 works as well

Hope this helps

I saw it too, but that doesn't help me much as it doesn't work for me .

I can't change the PCI slot on my laptop .

I downloaded the driver for 8139 family on the Realtek site and it unpacked and seemed to install . But, no progress at all .

As I cloned the OSX partition from one computer to another I wonder if that could maybe be the problem, as I could have imported the settings of the other computer to the laptop .
