azertyman
Hi, I'm trying to install OSX86 on an external HD to boot from for a (standard) Duo Core Dell Latitude D830. I downloaded and burned Aitkos and Kalyway. (Kalyway didn't boot up, I get the message "Reboot you system" or something) The installation of Aitkos went succesfully after following the stardard procedure of : disk util > Darwin boot > succesful installation on external HD partition > Setting the boot flag to 1 for the disk When I start Aitkos without the DVD inserted, I get a blinking cursor. If I leave the DVD in it, I just get back the installation screen of Aitkos. I tried to boot on 2 different (intel) Dell pc's (no duo core), without any luck... Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks in advance! At boot screen press F8, and write rd=diskXsY X = is the number of the disk, normally 0, and Y=Partition number,For example if u have only 1 partition try: rd=disk0s1 .Good Luck... kepitemp
I'm trying to install OSX86 on an external HD to boot from for a (standard) Duo Core Dell Latitude D830. If I leave the DVD in it, I just get back the installation screen of Aitkos. I have a dell d830 and I've got the exact same issue. Same thing happened to me with the kalyway, and I can get the iatkos installed but cannot get it to boot. Checked boot flag with Gparted live cd, everything is fine. Even tried booting the dvd with the rd=disk0s1 and no luck. If you or anyone else has found a workaround please share. BTW: I have access also to the d820 model and it works with kalyway, althought the video is really bad. Not sure what the difference is between the d820 and d830 but I heard the newer d830 has the santa rosa chipset? Maybe that is what causing the issue with the d830. I haven't found a single person with one working on the d830 with my searches on google. mactrip
As for kalyway not booting on the DELL D830. I had to update my bios from version 02 to current (version 10). Then I could boot.
