ChasingVertigo
Running 10.4.9 with the 10.4.11 combo upgrade applied a majority of packages refuse to install. I have successfully ran the mpkg's for iTunes 7.5 and the latest Quicktime but when I try to install most other mpkg's the install dialog reads "There were errors installing the software. Please try again..." and in the install logs shows this: Jan 26 04:24:48 johns-computer : Install failed: The following install step failed: run preflight script for Flip4Mac WMV I've tried these mpkgs in Leopard and they were fine, I have no idea what's wrong and would appreciate some help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83601-the-following-install-step-failed-run-preflight-script-while-installing-mpkgs/ Share on other sites
Topola
Don't see how installing packages has anything to do with Flip4Mac....it doesn't install anything that affects the system library (to my knowledge) Maybe you've thought of this already, but I'd recommend you repair permissions from within the Disc Utility. If you're still not able to install stuff after repairing permissions, I'd suggest you create a new user account and try to install whatever, there. You can always delete that account later, but it would be a good indicator to see if something is fouled up within your primary user account.
