Hi,

I'm using this guide to install os X next to my installations of Win XP and Ubuntu, which are already in place.

Founding out some troubles when making a new partition.

I resized an NTFS partition from 60 gig to 53 gig, and created thus 7 gigs of free space.

Now the guide says I must create a partition with diskpart like "create partition primary id=af". But then I get the "Can not create partition" error...

Then the guide says delete the partition first, then try again. But if I want to delete the partition, I get the "The selected partition may be neccessary to the operation of your computer, and

may not be deleted." error.

Then we are were we started, so I see no light in the dark...

Who can help me please?

Another thing:

Partitie ### Type Grootte Offset
------------- ---------------- ------- ------
Partitie 1	OEM 3004 MB	32 KB
Partitie 2	Primary 20 GB 3004 MB
Partitie 3	Extended 52 GB	22 GB
Partitie 4	Logical 52 GB	22 GB
Partitie 5	Logical 541 MB	74 GB
Partitie 6	Unknown 12 GB	75 GB

Can I, after creating the right partition dd the image to partition 6 or must I move it first?

Thanks a lot!!

thanks!

so i must move the 7 gigs, to before the extended.

Maybe it's not possible without loosing data: delete the extented and logicals (backup your data before), create a primary and once it done recreate you extented and logicals like before.
