sakesensei
Hi everybody! My 1st post here. I'm kinda newbie and i found an issue refering 10.5 setup. (both 10.5 and 10.4, actually) In the installation, at hard disk select part, the setup wont recognize my hard drive; it recognises pen drives, external hard drives, and cd drive, but not my local one. Why my HD is incompatible? HD is a hitatchi 160gb SATA drive. Pls help me =) tks ^^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83380-hard-drive-not-detected/ Share on other sites

wahwahman89
Go into your BIOS options (hook up your disk to he ICH controller) and change mode to either AHCI or IDE - one or the other will work (worked for me at least). What IDE does is it simply makes operating systems 'think' its IDE and does all the hard work driver wise for the OS. Hope that helps Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83380-hard-drive-not-detected/#findComment-593463 Share on other sites

guaterickie
yea if you boot in the bios there should be an option to run the hard drives in AHCI mode its disabled by default and i have a different motherboard but the option was under "Integrated Peripherals" good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83380-hard-drive-not-detected/#findComment-593644 Share on other sites
