andershack
I made a post in another thread about this, but I've been digging and digging without finding another description that matches so I'm wondering If I've found something new or just a different version of an old problem. I installed iATKOSv1.01r2 successfully. I used stock kernel, efi bootloader, etc. All the stuff you need for a core 2 duo. Installing w/out EFI results in a very unhappy box. In my 965P's bios I cannot use AHCI. If I do I get the "Holy {censored}, I can't find com.apple.Boot.plist so I'm totally freaking the fnark out!" message. I currently have the sata hd plugged into the orange ports, but the problem exists when using the jmicron purple guys as well. I can boot into OSX with the dvd in my IDE drive by using rd=disk0s2 (my osx partition is after my windows partition. I've tried reversing the partition order and the same thing happens). When I boot without the dvd I successfully arrive at the Darwin bootloader screen and I'm presented with the proper options: my OSX partition by default and my windows partition above it, unhighlighted. If I arrow up to the windows partition and select it, windows boots normally. If, however, I select the OSX partition the screen redraws itself and nothing happens. *blink* Right back to the menu. This happens regardless of any arguments passed such as -v or -x. The partition is set active, I've checked and unchecked the boot flag in gparted, and I've edited com.apple.Boot.plist and set a kernel flag to rd=disk0s2. I've used the fdisk/dd/startupfiletool/bless method after copying over the boot files (yes, they do appear to be missing from the install). I've even tried Voodoo. There are so many dead chickens in my dumpster that the neighbors are telling me to go buy a real Mac. I keep telling them that I'm waiting for the new Macbooks to come out. In the meantime... Any takers? ps - I hear good things about the ToH disk "script.sh" but I'm unable to find it by itself. Anyone want to pm it to me? Nothing else has worked, why not give it a whirl! pps - I've used the chain0 method. It works... in that it takes me to the darwin bootloader and the same problem halts my progress. also, I'm not sure if I have a GA-965P-DS3 or just the S3. Newegg's invoice says DS3 and BIOS says S3. I'm inclined to believe the BIOS, but it's lied to me so many times before... the hussy. andershack
Already been through the ds3 and s3 guides. Very helpful - got me over a few previous hurtles, but no dice on this one.
