Frozen apple bootup

I used the Kalyway DVD to install on a partition. The install seemed to be okay. First boot up goes into Darwin and gives me 8 sec to make an option to boot into another partition. It boots into my Win XP fine without problems. When I select Leopard bootup, the apple logo and throbber appear but gets stuck and hangs forever. Doing a -v at bootup, I find that it gets stuck at a line that says:

DiskStore: unable to create/find index location.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
