felixlaumon
Hi everyone I'm using a IBM X41 laptop /w 512MB I use a pre patched 10.4.3 Install DVD. I am sure that there is no problem with the DVD because I have installed Mac OS x86 to another PC by this disc. I am struck at the blue screen of installation (i.e. before selecting the language) I have tried -v, -x, -F, but I have no luck at all. Does anyone have similar experience or any successful case of installing OS X on a IBM X41? Many Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8245-ibm-x41-install-probelm/ Share on other sites
Metrogirl
Isn't the X41 the ultra-thin laptop with external DVD? I don't have experience of installing on that platform but some of the IBM laptop drives (Mat{censored}a UJDA7xx) have real problems with 10.4.3 DVDs. I don't know if you have one of these. A hang after installation starts, i.e. after all the -v information has gone from the screen, strongly suggests a DVD problem to me. If you can, try installing from an external USB DVD drive. It's detecting the external vga as primary, and I believe its freezing at that point. I was able to successfully install a pre-patched 10.4.3 dvd through vmware on my x41t. There are a bunch of posts on the blue screen that were helpful. Unfortunately, I still have to 'play' with the monitor switch key (fn+f7) during boot as well as the the sleep key (fn+f4). It's not ideal, but it works. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8245-ibm-x41-install-probelm/#findComment-51298 Share on other sites
Cronk
Yes, that happens to me too. And I can't figure out a workaround. Also, I can't get the network card or the wireless to work. Any fixes?
