I will have a Macbook Air in a few weeks, but unfortuntely I cannot wait that long and want to run Leopard for the time being on my Dell E1405. What is the best image to use, and what is the best method to use to install it? Also, will audio work? I remember reading there were a few small audio bugs on the E1405.

Can I dual boot at all with Vista still?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I just did a good hour of reading on the forums. I have both the iATKOS and Kalway releases. Which one will be the easiest and most painless to install? I have an E1405 with the Broadcom 440x and Dell 1500 DraftN wireless card.

The rest of my hardware is stock. 2.0ghz Core 2 Duo, 2gb of ram, 160gb hdd, etc... Does the iATKOS release still have the issue with the NIC connection going dead randomly with the 440x? Also, will I be able to open and close the laptop without restart it every time with either release? Will I be able to use both cores or just 1 (-v cpu=1) with either release?

Also, what is the best way to go about the install? My current HDD has 3 partitions. 1 for Windows then 2 for files - I have it all backed up and I'm ready to go. Should I just boot from one of the images? There really is no intuitive guide on the wiki that one can follow for either release. :)Please chime in with your thoughts, I want to get going ASAP! :Danyone?

E1405 core2 1.6 here. Works fine with the Kalyway. Have to set the cores to 1, and use the 9200 stack for the sound (applehda).

I'm working with xp media center 2k5 and leo 10.5.1.

Network works fine, wireless with the intel mini pci does not, but I'm buying one of the broad com based dell wireless cards off ebay for something like 10 bucks. it should be recognized as airport natively from what i've read.

good luck.

Hey ive been successful in getting iatkos v7 installed and working on my Dell e1405, with the intel rare gma 950 driver(although the chip is actually an intel (82)945GM with GMA 950 graphics acceleration), and the VooDoo kernel 9.5.0. i cant however change the resolution from 1024x768x32@60. i also run into trouble with playing video(avi. etc) with vlc or quicktime, although youtube and hulu work fine, i run into DRM issues with netflix and the microsoft silverlight plugin with safari and firefox...it looks like this thread is rather old maybe i can spark it up again...

EDIT: Got full resolution. yet still no Quartz Extreme support, bummer, so gonna have some issues with video playback till i can get that working( the newest versions of vlc require QE) also full screen video will be very laggy with no hardware acceleration ugh...but a step in the right direction...if you wanna know the skinny on how this problem was fixed post a reply....
