Voyn1x Posted January 17, 2008 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I've got a very strange sound issue wonder if anyone's had this problem. My sound seems to work fine in general, playing mp3s, video etc, but when system alerts play they crackle and sound distorted. I went into the sound section and clicked though all the alert sounds and they crackle the same. I thought they may have got corrupted in the install so I opened the sounds directly in itunes/quicktime but they play fine. Running Leopard 10.5.1 on an AMD Athlon 3500+ with the Sse2 kernel. My onboard sound is the Realtek AC97. Does anyone have any ideas?
