Best Hackintosh Video Card for $300 or so?

I have a Hackintosh running Leopard 10.5.1 (native via EFI v5.2) and dual booting XP on a separate drive on a Bad Axe II motherboard.

I mention the motherboard because as many of you know, this board supports 'crossfire'. It (obviously) does not support SLI.

So, I am trying to figure out the best card I can get for about $300. I see that recent developments have made the ATI 3870 work with Leo, and that would be pretty nice, plus I could 'crossfire' it later to make the windows rig scream.

But I really want to have good video performance out of Leo, because I plan on having some fun with video editing (home movies of the kids, etc).

I have read where some folks think that the ATI x1950 may actually outperform the newer, higher end ATI cards in OSX, and that they may in fact outperform the nVidia cards as well.

I am open to the idea of a GeForce 8800 GT, but only if I can be convinced that a single one of those cards cannot be outdone by a pair of 'crossfired' ATI 1950's.

So - does anyone have any real life or even benchmark testing of different cards in OSX??

Thanks!!
