touche
1 - Mount your .dmg file. 2 - Go to your Disk Utility 3 - Now on "images" choose "Convert..." 4 - Than in "Image Format" choose "DVD/CD Master" 5 - Put .cdr extension after a name 6 - Press save, and wait a few minutes 7 - After this, rename your "diskimage.cdr" to "diskimage.iso" 8 - Now you need patch your .iso image with 1111a.Generic.Patch.v4.2b.zip (see below, thank Antrunix!!!!) 9 - "Please note that a convenient way for creating a patched Mac OS X 10.4.3 81111A DVD/ISO is the JaS 8F1111A Generic Patch v4.2b. It includes all relevant Maxxuss patches and drivers, and allows you to install 10.4.3 8F1111A on any x86 system without hassle. The only requirement is the original 10.4.3 8F1111 DTK DVD DMG, converted to an ISO file. " Source : [Violation of DMCA] JaS 8F1111A Generic Patch v4.2b : [Violation of DMCA] 10 - Decompress the 1111a.Generic.Patch.v4.2b.zip and mount PPF-O-Maticv30.dmg.gz 11 - READ THIS (thanks telmac4!!!!): "When using PPF-O-Matic v3.o in OSX, I found that it crashes when selecting the ISO image to patch. To prevent this, double click the .ppf file first. This will start the PPF-O-Matic, then select ISO image and APPLY patch. Now it patches without crashing." 12 - After patch, open your Toast (i'm using Toast Titanium 5.2.3 and works) and burn your .iso like a dvd image. And voilá, now you can do your upgrade/install like a charm. Hope this tip would be useful for everybody that use macx86. ;-) Touché Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8141-a-good-way-to-make-an-iso-dvd-and-patch-it-in-osx/ Share on other sites
Metrogirl
Thanks, Touche. I can confirm that this method works. The bit about PPF-O-Matic on OSX is absolutely correct; whenever you try to open the second file (either the source or the PPF) it promptly crashes. Double-clicking the PPF avoids having to open more than one file from the application so it works. Note that you can use Disk Utility to burn the disk too, you don't need Toast if you don't have it. I changed the topic title slightly so people don't get confused. -.-
Thanks for posting this, touche. I was hunting for instructions and came across someone asking how in pc or somewhere and someone posted if they dont know how they have no business installing an OS, lol. And thanks for the heads up on ppf crashing, that may be what i did once while looking in things but I'm not sure. TranSport
The best and easiest installation I have used yet. I have tried many ways, patched .iso downloads, patching .iso's in XP, Nero the works. This was the only successful method I could easily understand and use. Great job! Thanks!
