I did not select vanilla.. but i later.. in leopard.. browsed through the disk and install the Vanilla_Kernel package. If it makes a difference.. in system profiler here is what it says for my kernel: System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.1 (9B18) Kernel Version: Darwin 9.1.0 If this is not the correct way to upgrade, what is? thanks ..upon further inspection i notice on my sisters macbook.. it has the same kernel info.
