Jadedknight
This is awesome nearly everything worked, and I managed to get my Nvidia 8600GT working as well, everything works now..except PS/2 support but I can fix that later. Two questions though. How can I dual boot? I am not using partitions I have 2 separate hard drives. It doesn't matter which method, Darwin or Chain0 but I don't want to re install anything. Last thing, it will only boot when the DVD is in the drive, or else it throws a b0 error, how can I solve this? Thanks in advance guys Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81210-just-2-question-post-install/ Share on other sites
iceyone
To get it to boot: Put the install cd in the drive. Instead of booting it, press f8 and type -s: Once it brings up the terminal prompt type the following: fdisk -e /dev/rdisk# (this will be the disk you have it installed on) fdisk: 0>update fdisk:*0> f # (this will be the partition you have it installed on) “Partition # marked active” fdisk:*0> w Device could not be accessed exclusively. A reboot will be needed for changes to take effect. OK? [n]y Writing MBR at offset 0. fdisk: 0> q To dual boot with 2 hdd's: I'm not 100% sure on how to dual boot with 2 hdd's but it shouldn't be all that different to 1. You would probably just have to change the disk # and partition # so instead of putting rdisk0s2 For disk 1 partition 2, maybe put rdisk1s1, see how it goes. jaeger
What type of HD you have for leopard? GUID or MBR? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81210-just-2-question-post-install/#findComment-576296 Share on other sites

As for changing the boot sequence in the BIOS it is more convenient and probably faster to select from a list. Also I am not sure if it is MBR or GUID. Does anyone know of a tutorial that shows you how to use the Darwin bootloader to dual boo XP / Mac? When you are on leopard open Terminal . type: diskutil list + enter you can now see if it is MBR or GUID>.. Jadedknight
Yes if I keep the disc in it still boots, but if the disk is out it throws a "HFS+ Partition Error" This is what I get from the diskutil list: 1: Apple_HFS Macintosh 111.8 Gi disk1s1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81210-just-2-question-post-install/#findComment-576588 Share on other sites
