I'm trying to install Kalyway's Leopard 10.5.1 intel SSE2_SSE3 only dvd. it loads the .ktext extensions on boot. after about 5 mins, it reboots the pc. It goes to fast to see what the last extension it loads. here are my specs. Intel Brookdale-G i845G Chipset Intel Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz SSE2 nVidia FX5500 128 DDR (lol, with no fan ) 768 DDR SDRAM Barracuda ATA V 40 Gb HDD LG Super Multi Drive With Lightscribe and DVD-DL support (maybe not important?) If you need more info I'll put more up. I have 10.4.6 on a 8 Gb drive. But Leopard proboly (SP?) has alot more requirments. Rizmaster Posted January 12, 2008 Share Posted January 12, 2008 Let's see: You're trying to load Leopard from an INTEL SSE2/SSE3 ONLY disc on a system without SSE3. That's likely your problem right there. If I need different hardware, I can get it. I work at a computer store. Any tips? I guess the Darwin boot loader in Kalyway's DVD is too new for your PC. So do you have 10.4.x(x<9) DVD? Please find the file usr/standalone/i386/cdboot, and post here, I'll give a try. Henke Posted January 15, 2008 Share Posted January 15, 2008 It's actually meant for dave, he asked for it, so he's probably going to try to make some kind of patch so that we can use the old bootloader with the new install disc. For now there's nothing more to do than to wait.
