RadioC1ash
I've had success with other IBMs, so I thought I'd try a T43. I'm Installing from a Brazilmac 9a581 Patched dvd. I never make it to the Installation, however, it halts before I get that far. When booting -v -s, it halts a few lines after: IOPCCard Bridge: :Start Fail Debug Driver Registered:AppleUSBBUHCI Debug Driver Registered:AppleUSBBUHCI And then a few lines later it halts after the: BSD root: disk1s3, major 14, minor 4 I appreciate any thoughts. Martin landhage
I have installed iATKOS v7 Mac OS X 10.5.7 on an IBM ThinkPad T43 type 2668-74G (2005) and all hardware except the fingerprint reader works. For Sound install an AppleAC97Audio.kext that contains an AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext. Wireless: The IBM T43 contains an AR5212 chip that is compatible with AR5424 that has a driver in Mac OS X 10.5.7 It has the following Hardware indentity: Device ID: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_1014&SUBSYS_057E1014&REV_01\4&AD1B67F&0&10F0 cd /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/Plugins/AirPortAtheros.kext/Contents vi Info.plist Add the following row in Hardware ID list: <string>pci168c,1014</string> cd .. cd .. kextload -t AirPortAtheros.kext Now you should get an "empty pice of cake" in the top row. In order to activate the Wireless Network, you do need to add another location in Network Preferencess. Automatic does not work. Then you can add your network. Martin landhage
The enclosed kext includes the AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext that is needed for the sound. Unpack with tar xvfz AppleAC97Audio.kext.tar.gz I have also found a serious bug in the Broadcom BC5751 Ethernet driver. If the IP address provided via DHCP is a 192.x.x.x adress, the first byte is truncated, so a 192.169.0.x adress will be a 169.x.x.x adress and no network address is provided. Works fine with a 172.21.0.x adress. Martin landhage
I have not seen that Chameleon v2 can find my Linux partition. So I do tripple boot in my case from the Ubuntu 10.10 GRUB. However the GRUB 1.98 generates a lot of drivers that is not compatible with iATKOS v7. To get by this problem, change the Mac OS X (32-bit) option in /boot/grub/grub.cfg to: menuentry "Mac OS X 10.5.7 (on /dev/sda2)" { insmod part_msdos insmod hfsplus set root='(hd0,msdos2)' search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set 51df3f4addc0f576 drivemap -s (hd0) ${root} chainloader +1 } I edit with vi as root and save with :w! I have completely removed the 64-bit option. Reboot and your Mac OS X 10.5.7 option will work file Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81104-ibm-t43-leopard-installation/#findComment-1597678 Share on other sites
