Have the same problem here. Nothing seems to work. Installing 10.4.4 drivers didn't let me run the card at all. I think it has something to do with refresh rates, because i tryed two displays. One says out of range and the other complains about a 86 Hz vertical refresh rate.

But the system continues working as if no problem was detected.

Is the refresh rate hardcoded into the drivers or is there any file we can rewrite to try more modest rates as 74 or so?

Yes, I have an x300, no SE from what I can tell, that came out of an HP XW4300. With 10.4.3 8f1111a with JaS's patch, I have QE and CI out of the box. Then after editting the com.apple.Boot.plist or something file, I have 1280x1024x32. No problems except for the minor cursor repainting issues when scrolling web pages with my mouse wheel

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

add

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1280x1024x32@85</string> or whatever resolution your monitor supports.
