54mbps
I am in the process of upgrading a friend's computer to 10.5 but the computer (an old eMac) has a broken CD drive and no extra partition. I cannot think of a way to get past this, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a mac OS 10.5 Retail CD, a separate Macbook and am not sure what to do. Is there an application for tiger that allows for non-destructive partitioning in tiger (without booting from CD). Preferably a Free app that does not require activation. Thanks for any help! Synaesthesia
Get yourself a 6-pin to 6-pin firewire cable, plug it in both macs, reboot the emac in "firewire target disk mode" (by holding down 't' while booting), insert the Leopard dvd in your Macbook, and install. When you install, just select the emac as the destination (it will get mounted as an external volume) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/80503-upgrading-to-105-without-working-cd-drive-or-extra-partition/#findComment-571112 Share on other sites
