alanb007
Hi Everyone. I have the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD which I have been struggling to install on the Thinkpad R52. I usually get to a blue screen which is where it hangs and needs to be rebooted. (I am using a spare hard drive and only boot to Mac) I can do this numerous times and then mysteriously it will continue past this point and I have the system up and running. When this happens, sound works, RJ45 network works, wireless doesn't. System seems to be able to go to sleep and will wake up on pressing the Fn button. When I connect an external monitor to the laptop, it will boot everytime. When I only use the laptop on its own, I have the problem back. I have read lots of threads and can't find a solution that works. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Video driver?? When I install the system (I have done many times) I cannot find a combination that gets rid of this problem. So, latest install was only to tick the SSE2 option and also the MBR option. Any good ideas? The graphics chip is Mobile Intel® 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family Total Memory : 121.84MB (121.84MB Video) The wireless card is Model : Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection and I can't find a way for the system to recognise it. Is there a solution? The RJ45 connection is through a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet which works well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks Alan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/80137-thinkpad-r52/ Share on other sites
