Can't get Leopard to boot after successful install

I was able to install Kalyway successfully.

 

But when I try to boot the computer one of two things happens.

 

1) If i leave the CD in the drive, it gives me the com.pple.Boot.plist not found error

2) If i take the cd out of the drive, i get the reboot and select proper boot device error

 

For some reason it is not seeing my hard drive?
