Installation hopeful Posted January 28, 2006 Share Posted January 28, 2006 Ok, I have gotten everything set up but I just want to make sure... Can I boot this from an external USB drive? As it says above, I have an HP Pavilion 7955 The only difference between my computer is extra ram (512MB) and an upgraded video card (ATI Radeon 9550) I have an SSE2 Pentium 4 1.5GHz CPU If there is nothing wrong with the current setup, please tell me how I can boot from the external drive. The BIOS does not support USB devices. How can I get GRUB to boot to this disk? --Thanks in advance. I have a Dell XPS 2 and I just hit F12 to get to boot menu, and choose my USB Drive. Works great, slow bootup but once in OS everything is pretty fast. Now, just need to get higher res then 1280x1024... newb Posted November 1, 2007 Share Posted November 1, 2007 Sorry I can't give you advice on your setup but I was wondering if you can assist me. I'm new to this site and very interested in doing the OSX86 on my Dell however I'm quite new to computers and getting confused on the process of getting all the stuff I need I have a osx 10.4.3 disk but process says i need an iso image.
