kalyway 10.5.1 com.apple.system.fs error

its the second time that i've downloaded and burned kalyway 10.5.1 ss3 dvd from different torrents just to make sure it wasn't a media error, both of them started loading darwin but right after the usual apple logo appeared with the "spinning-loading-indicator" underneath my computer restarted

in verbose mode there seems to be an error right before the pc restarts which reads "com.apple.system.fs" along with what seems to be a couple of error codes.

i also get an error when i activate firewire that sets it to "full security mode"

right before the apple logo appears in normal mode there is a brief flash of text on the screen in which i can barely read efi among the rest of the text, dont know if its an error, cant read it.

all i know is that osx isnt friend with 680i chipset.. if thats the one u have.

Not true. I have an EVGA 680i motherboard and have been able to get ToH running, as well as Kalyway. I wouldn't say it was easy but it's not too difficult if you follow the guide on that 680i thread and use some personal knowledge and the forums to make good guesses at what you should try next if you run into a roadblock, but I can tell you for sure I can boot to the desktop with both those releases with this motherboard, On Kalyway I can get both cores working but still having issues with video (no QE-CI). On ToH I can get video working (with QE-CI) but only 1 core. I'm not giving up tho I'm sure I'll get everything working one way or another since I know that both are possible! :D It just takes some patience and persistence; maybe some red bull, and Tylenol and some midnight oil too. LOL.

no mine has an nforce 4 chipset please help, any ideas?

thanx

Is that error happening when booting the Kalyway install DVD or is it after its installed and booting from the HD? If it's while booting from DVD, try the usual F8 flags? (-x -f -legacy cpus=1 -v) com.apple.system.fs, fs sounds like filesystem maybe? Tried using a different DVD-rom drive if you have another? Tried using PATA instead of SATA DVDrom/HD? Checked your bios settings? Checked if theres a thread already for your type of hardware? I never got that error so I'm not sure, I take it you searched the forum for that error as well and didn't find anything about it?

i did search the error, no results

but then i took my time setting the bios and did some changes, first i disabled every idea and sata i wasnt using, then i set my hard drive to udma 6 mode and my dvd drive to udma2 and pio 4 mode, disabled 32bit writing and unplugged everything i wasnt going to need on the installation.

there has been a progress (i think), in verbose mode the last line says Darwin kernel version 9.1.0 +date +made by toh, it freezes there for about .. well still waiting

at least my pc doesnt restart itself anymore, but i dont think its normal that after 20+ minutes there is no installation gui on my screen

i am going to try vanilla to see if it makes any difference
