revout
Hi all, I posted awhile back about trying to fix my reboot with a different ACPIPlatform after losing my ability to restart with a vanilla kernel. Well, in my haste to try a new kext, I managed to delete AppleACPIPlatform.kext in my /System/Library/Extensions and now can't even boot back into single-user mode to restore my backup. I have Gusty Gibbon on another partition, and I've tried mounting the drive and changing permissions, but I'm having some trouble (I suspect I'm just doing something wrong with sudo nautilus). If someone could tell me an easy way for me to restore this kext from Gusty, it'd be greatly appreciated. Additionally, if I've totally messed my install up, all I need is my music out of my OS X user folder. If there is a way to grab this from Gusty and put it into my Gusty partition somewhere, that'd work too (and give me an excuse to start playing with Leo on that partition). I'm really embarrassed here; I know I've fixed this before, but I'm wiped out tonight and just can't seem to get it together. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Edit: Wouldn't you know I figure it out as soon as I post this. I was goofing up where I was pasting in sudo nautilus (trying to paste directly to my non-sudo desktop) and all is now well. If anyone still wants to give me a hint to recover my kext in Tiger (before I get too fidgety with my iATKOS here), I'd still be appreciative for the lesson.
