Hii all,

Yesterday there was first time when trying to install Leo on my newly bought PC. here are my specs:

Intel core2duo e6750, 2,66Ghz

4Gb Kingstom RAM, 800Mhz

Asus P5K motherboard,

samsung 320GB sata II, 16MB

Nec dvd-rw, sata,

Asus 8800GT 512, video card.

I do have 3 different dvd's of x86 Leopard: iatkos, brazilmac and Kalaway dvd.

i dont know what i'm doing wrong, maybe u guys could tell:

In BIOS: it recognizes my both sata devices: hdd and dvd-rw, hdd as sata 4 (device), and dvd-rw the second sata.(should my hdd be the first sata?)

when i select sata configuration section i found that i only can set sata as IDE, there are no options there(is this normal?)

in onboard devices sections, there was a line saying use sata as (RAID,IDE, ACHI), first i've selected achi(as i was reading a lot of posts), but i'm having sata dvd so i disabled jmicron controller at all, and that line disappeared.

Thats what i did with my BIOS.

Now the instalation:

Firstly i tried to install using brazilmac dvd, but it failed even when booting, there appeared like a stop sign near the apple logo and thats it.(maybe i should re-download brazilmac dvd once again, because in many posts i've read that brazilmac should be the perfect install for p5k... motherboards.)

OK... secondly i tried to boot from iatkos dvd, the boot was succesfull, but when i go to disk utility no hard drive or even dvd drive is shoing in the selection list(don't know why at all).

Thirdly i tried to install Leo using Kalaway  10.5.1 dvd, the boot was succesfull, the disk utility found my both hard drive ad dvd drives, i formated my hdd as mac os x(journaled with the option Guid), then selected the vanilla kernel both option from costumize menu and guid bootloader option. It installed Leo and it booted normally. The problems appeared when i was trying to install video drivers( i chose nvinject v2.0 the last one), my audio wasn't recognise, and ethernet wasn't working. When i installed graphics drivers it asked me to restart my PC, and when i did that it didn't boot( the was a small black screen saying me to restart or shutdown my computer in different languanges).Ok i was thinking i didn't correctle installed drivers,so i did the instalation on more time, when selecting nvinject drivers form install dvd(costumize menu).I also selected audio drivers for alc883, but this time leo didn't boot and the same screen appeared(shutdown in different languanges).

That's what i did last night, spending 4 hours:)

What do u guys think is there any chance for me of having Leo on my PC. Don't know what to do:(

thanks for listening and sorry for my english.

cheers

boot the kalway install first with "-v -f"

this will tell you wich kext is causing issues

then reboot the hdd and boot into "-s"

then fsck + mount (it tells you how in console)

then do

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/faulltyextesion.kext

then do a reboot and boot with "-v -f" again

well thats a long list of issues, see if there are any bios updates for you board, and what kind of video card do you have? Btw if u tried guid with iatkos and vanilla kernel it wont work, if you want the vanilla kenel with the efi bootloader you need to select an mbr partition. Selecting a video kexts off the cd that doesnt support you card will also cause a boot failure, a boot failure can also be caused by using a guid with iatkos or forgetting to use darwin boot after you make the partition but before you install leopard. {censored} i just realized i got mixed up, i thought kalway wasn't working and iatkos detected your drive.

BTW. IAtkos gave me tons of boot issues so i circumvented there efi boot loader by installing pc efi 8.0, which also allowed me to use guid. all you need to do is install it in the terminal after creating a guid partition, skip the darwin boot, and select vanilla kernel in the package options.

Thanx for suggestions, i'll try to look at my leo when i get home(work!! :P )One thing that I've done wrong is that  i didn't use darwin boot( as i understood it is in the menu, right?), after creating partitions and started installing the system. But how comes that only Kalaway dvd sees my hdd, thats weird. And even when  it was formated as mac os x journaled , iatkos could't see that.
